Good-Ol-Service

This is my favorite Mormon message, Ive watch it over, and over again. There is so much to learn from them. Just the other day we walking around because we had a little time before an appointment. We saw a man pulling weeds in his front yard so we went up to him, said hello, then pulled weeds with him. You would think it would be a little awkward... but it wasn't. We started to talk about the church and told him what we believed, we talked to him for about 20 minutes, but it turned out he wasn't to interested. It was kind of a bummer that he didn't want us to come back but i still felt good because we helped him get his yard work done. One of my favorite Book of Mormon prophets King Benjamin said "behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn awisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the bservice of your cfellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Although the man we were talking to didn't except what what we believed i know he appreciated the service we offered him. I know that Christ was the most perfect example when it came to service and there is so much we can learn form him. But there is nothing better than to live like Christ lived, setting that same example as he did as we go around serving others.

I guess this is the beggining

I want to share with everybody why I am here and what I am doing. Well I guess ill start from square one. When I was 18 years old I decided that I wanted to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so i filled out some paper work and it all started form there, It took a few weeks until I got a letter in the mail telling me that i was going to serve a full time mission. I was called to serve in the Tennessee, Nashville mission, and I had 4 month to prepare. So i got everything taken care of, got everything I needed, and I was off. In 2009 I left my family, friends, and the little town called Sirling Alberta. It was hard leaving everyone I new, and traveling across the US, but one thing i can say is that it is worth it, I love serving the Lord, and all of the people here in Tennessee.
